Course Description

This seminar is designed to reinforce the idea that a periodic examination of a project’s health is the way to keep a project from getting into trouble.  It focuses specifically on how to recognize that a project is in “trouble”, and concentrates on the actions that project managers need to make that assessment.  Tools and templates will be presented and put into context through various exercises and scenarios and case studies.

Learning Objectives:

Students will learn how to use project management techniques to assess the likelihood of managing their projects successfully and with minimum risk.

  • Develop working definitions of project success, failure and trouble.

  • Discuss how and why projects get in trouble.

  • Discuss techniques for performing project reviews.

  • Determine the type of project review required

  • Conduct a Project Health Check on a case study
